THE HISTORY OF SPORTea®

SPORTea® was developed by a now well known herbist from Colorado who spent several years with his wife as his co-developer working hard and long on the combinations and permutations of various ingredients to achieve his desired results.  He wanted to develop a fresh brewed, great tasting beverage that would give better-health oriented consumers an everyday beverage that they could feel good about drinking throughout their day...

1.      It needed to fit their active, busy lifestyle by being easy to make and consume.

2.     It needed to provide them with not only a good taste but a bit of a lift whenever they need one.

3.       It needed to offer a real honest-to-goodness healthy alternative to all the sugary, caffeine loaded, artificially sweetened, and carbonated beverage choices in the marketplace.

4.       It needed to provide some key everyday health and nutritional benefits as well. 

SPORTea®’s story is also as much about what it doesn’t contain as it is about what it does contain.  The formulators wanted people to have a beverage that was good for a person to drink all day long just like glasses of water are.  Another important piece was that SPORTeaâ should have no negative attributes so that a person could feel for sure good about drinking it all day long.  They did not want…

1)      The “surge-sink” let down syndrome so often associated with drinking regular caffeinated and sugary beverages – Not SPORTeaâ … a decaff equivalent and no sugar!  It energizes via overall bodily performance efficiency improvement and not a riveting injection into the central nervous system.

2)      The extra calories associated with juices or sugary sport and soda drinks – Not SPORTeaâ …”0” calories!

3) The potentially negative aspects of consuming “diet” drinks with artificial sweeteners (See Studies) – Not SPORTeaâ… Nothing Artificial!

4)      The dry unsavory after taste associated with so many different types of beverages (other that water) that really do not quench your thirst – Not SPORTeaâ… It’s clean and refreshing with no aftertaste and it truly does quench your thirst.

Today, SPORTeaâ is operated as a family business by Elizabeth and H. Keys Allan.  Most of the exposure for SPORTeaâ has been by word of mouth through trade shows, races, events tastings, restaurants iced tea offerings, and by people sharing this unique product with friends and associates.  A truly grass roots story of a quality, enduring product with very loyal customers.

ULTIMATE PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS, Inc. has offered only the SPORTeaâ product for some years now. We have all of our customers who recognized a quality product and have stayed loyal to it to thank for the company’s survival and success.  Indeed single product companies are very rare …. like a fine wine!  Soon we hope to begin the ongoing process of introducing additional products which will eventually represent an enduring family of "ultimate performance products."   We hope this family of products will be responsive to  the many requests of our ever growing loyal customer base for more, truly good-for-you products like SPORTeaâ.
